Emily Zoldan
Emily Zoldan first came to yoga in 2002 during her university years in Montreal, Canada studying Theology, Religious Studies, and Psychology, in the end completing her degree with Honors in Communications & Cultural Studies. Like many however, she came to yoga for its physical practice, not so much for fitness but movement, that blissful feeling of coming out of your head and into your body in a rhythmic, free, and purposeful way. After ending a long yet complicated relationship and working through lose and depression, Emily packed her bags and went on a solo trip, part escape/part self-discovery for nearly two years to France, Spain and the French West Indies. Coming back to ones self can be a hard and arduous road that veers in different directions and can sometimes leave us feeling like we have hit a cul-de-sac (dead end) but it is precisely what motivated Emily to become a yoga teacher. Believing that true growth requires turning towards what is restricting us, finding space, breath and ultimately harnessing the power of a quiet mind so that one may move closer to their inner light of awareness and intuition. Being of service, guiding an asana practice and shining a light on the immense depth of thought that is Yoga to others brings her great joy and purpose. Certified in 2011 with YogaWorks in Los Angeles, California. For the past 11 years Emily has refined and expanded her teachings to include Alignment based Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. Most recently, Emily has taken her years of experience and education and co-lead four Yoga Teacher Trainings in the past 2 years with Yoga Alliance accredited Aquaholic Journey Yoga School. Trainings have taken place in Brazil and here locally in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Emily lives and teaches in Puerto Aventuras alongside her husband and two children.
